Modern Square Dancing
Is a fun activity for all ages.
Dancers from children to grand parents enjoy Square Dancing,
Sometimes they dance in the same square. It is hard to imagine another activity where there is so much fun, while learning to dance and joining the party atmosphere at club nights.
It is a great way to exercise.
A evening of Square Dancing has been calculated as equivalent to walking about 8 kilometres, but the smiles on dancers faces prove that is much more than a walk in the park. More than just physical excersise is the mental stimulation. Learning and dancing new moves helps to keep your brain active.
A beaut way to meet people.
Square Dancers come from all walks of life. It doesn't matter what your job in life is, as long as you can join others to share the fun and friendship that is evident in the clubs. All over the world the Square Dancing moves are called in English, the locals may speak Japanese, French or German. No matter where you go, the Square Dance calls will be in English. What a great way to meet new people!
Easy to learn
The club caller or teacher will show the moves to new dancers, explain how to do them and then put some music on so dancers can practice and learn to follow the calls. The Caller will progressively add more moves to the dancers repertoire as they become comfortable with the new ones.
